WE OFFER A WIDE RANGE OF DENTISTRY FOR CHILDREN DENTAL SERVICES TO PROMOTE A LIFETIME OF HEALTHY TEETH AND GUMS FOR YOUR CHILDREN. CALL US TODAY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR ATLANTA PEDIATRIC DENTAL TREATMENTS.
CHILDREN’S DENTAL CLEANINGS
Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommends that your child visit the dentist by his/her 1st birthday. We specialize in Dentistry for Children. Regular cleanings are critical to your child’s development of healthy teeth and gums. We perform regular check-ups, cleanings and oral health evaluations in our Atlanta children’s dental office.
LOW RADIATION DIGITAL X-RAYS
At A to Z Pediatric Dentistry, we utilize Digital X-rays, which use 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays, thus exposing your child to lower levels of radiation. Digital X-rays also provide us with immediate images to quickly diagnose hidden problems. We also have a Digital Panoramic X-ray machine, which can take a full “panoramic” picture of the teeth. The machine makes an entire half-circle motion to capture an image of the child’s entire oral cavity, providing our doctor a more complete view of your child’s bite, jaw and teeth. These X-rays are only necessary on initial visits and every few years thereafter. Our pediatric dental team is highly trained to provide low radiation x-rays and dentistry for children.
CHILDREN’S ORAL SEDATION
Is your child extremely anxious about visiting the dentist? We can administer an oral sedative to relax your child before performing any restorative dental procedure. Safe and effective, Oral Sedation allows your child to remain awake and aware, but their anxiety will be reduced for any dental procedure. We also provide Nitrous Oxide or “laughing gas” as an alternative form of sedation to calm and relax children before procedures. We are dedicated to providing safe sedation dentistry for children.
CHILDREN’S FLUORIDE TREATMENTS
Fluoride prevents tooth decay. It is a natural mineral that is found in food and water. Fluoride strengthens your tooth’s enamel, making it harder for bacteria to cause cavities. We offer fluoride treatments to promote good dental hygiene.
Tooth decay can begin early in life so children and teenagers may need fluoride treatments to keep their teeth healthy and promote future oral health.
CHILDREN’S DENTAL SEALANTS
A sealant is a very thin layer of strong plastic that bonds to the chewing part of the tooth in order to seal out the germs that cause cavities. These are used when there are tiny grooves in a child’s tooth that will be hard to clean with a toothbrush. The sealant reduces the chances of cavities developing.
COSMETIC “TOOTH-COLORED” CHILDREN’S DENTAL FILLINGS
Dental fillings are used to treat teeth that are damaged due to tooth decay. Children could have tooth decay if they are experiencing symptoms such as sensitivity to cold and hot food and drinks, toothaches, or jaw pain. Dental fillings help eliminate sensitivity and pain in the tooth and prevent any further damage from taking place. An exam of your child’s teeth can determine whether their teeth needs repair from dental fillings.
We are pleased to offer Cosmetic or “tooth-colored” fillings. These types of fillings are the same color as the teeth that they are bonded to, thus making them virtually invisible in the child’s mouth.
CHILDREN’S DENTAL CROWNS
Dental crowns are used to cover a tooth that might be likely to break or is too damaged and decayed to be fixed with a filling. A crown is an aesthetic covering or a tooth-shaped “cap” that is placed over another tooth to provide it stability. Crowns are generally used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth. When a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth, a crown is a good option. Crowns are also used to restore the shape and size of chipped or damaged teeth. They are typically bonded to the tooth using dental cement. We only recommend dental crowns for children when it is absolutely necessary.
We loved Dr. Z! I brought all three of my kids including my son with special needs/sensory issues and my daughter for her first visit to the dentist!
We went this afternoon and it was the girls first visit to the dentist. Neither of them shed a single tear or even seemed uncomfortable (they’re 3.5 and 2). He really goes out of his way to make them feel safe and at ease. It’s a new office and has tablets with all sorts of games attached to the wall in the waiting room for the kids to play with as well as movies playing and even movies on the ceiling over the exam chairs! He also gives out little prizes after their cleaning and gave us coupons …
We love Dr. Z. Our 10 year old son has autism with communication issues and hates going to the dentist. It’s always a production. Dr. Z is his 4th dentist and we have new hope for his teeth! With Dr. Z, he feels comfortable, engaged and actually complies with what Dr. Z needs him to do. Recently, I managed to get our 5 year old there. Last time we took the 5 year old to a dentist she clammed up and would NOT open her mouth. I was dreading this appointment with her because she is so stubborn, but…
My son just turned 1 year old and I brought him to the dentist for his first dental appointment…Dr. Hassan is SO great! He’s wonderful with children. My son will definitely continue to see him!
Great experience! Dr. Z and staff are 100% child focused from the moment you walk in the door. Beautiful office!
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Dr. Z is so cool with the kids. He really makes seeing the dentist fun. The atmosphere is very calm. The waiting room has awesome seating for kids, tablets to play games an TV with kid movies. The chair you lay in during cleaning has a TV on the ceiling & kids wear sunglasses. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST. FIVE STARS IS NOT ENOUGH!!
Dr.Z put a great deal of care into repairing my daughters two front teeth after a motoscooter accident. My daughter had a beautiful smile and now it’s even more beautiful. Dr. Z was the second cosmetic dentist we went to. The first dentist’s work kept falling apart.
Highly recommend. Great experience for the kids. Took my 5, 2.5 and 1.5 year old boys to AtoZ last summer. It was my first time taking them all together, and my 1.5 yo’s first time at the dentist. Thankfully it was a breeze. From the moment you walk in, the staff helps with the kids. The kids themselves went straight to the nicely mounted ipads on the wall. It was actually a mini break for me as I got to enjoy some coffee peacefully. Dr. Z came and developed immediate rapport with my kids in t…
My 5 year old daughter can be a little shy at times, and has never quite loved going to the dentist. But Dr. Z was amazing and by the time it was over she didn’t want to leave! This is a great practice, and the staff is excellent! I would definitely recommend. Thanks, Dr Z!
Dr. Z and his assistant, Lucy, were amazing with my 2.5 year old son. They introduced each of the instruments they were going to use. Dr. Z made Matty feel comfortable right away by giving him high fives, fist bumps, and shooting his “water gun” instrument. They made sure to incentive him with prizes and stickers. There was also a TV he could watch while laying down but he was so engaged with Dr. Z he didn’t even notice it. Also gave us great tips on oral hygiene, brushing and flossing technique…
